A few words about the process ...

Letterpress printing creates an impression in paper with inked metal or wood type.
In my studio, I use a Chandler & Price Pilot Press from the early 20th century with a mixture of wood type, metal type and magnesium plates to create original cards, prints, and custom social & business stationery.

The press is completely human–powered. Each piece of paper is fed into the press by hand.
Each impression is created with the pull of a lever that brings together the paper and inked type.
Each color requires a separate trip through the press. The work is intensely physical and the result is a unique handmade piece.

I accept commissions for all manner of custom work. You can find detailed information below.
For commissions, I usually work with magnesium plates created from digital files.
I do not have stock designs to order. Instead, I prefer to work with you to create the perfect design for your needs.
I am also happy to work with your existing designs.
